Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah

Mohammad Navid Safiullah obtained Masters in English Linguistics from Dhaka University, earned MBA on Digital Technologies Management from the Royal Roads, a top-notch Public University in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and subsequently attained master’s in governance & Development from BRAC University Bangladesh.

He joined Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) on 15 November 1995. During his long serving career spanning over 27 years, he has garnered diversified experience. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the ICT Division. He worked as Joint Secretary in the Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance. Earlier, he served as Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Madrid, Spain and also Bangladesh's Alternate Permanent Representative to the UN World Tourism Organization for almost 5 years.

As Commercial Counsellor, he promoted bilateral trade, investment and tourism between Bangladesh and Spain. Navid served as Director, Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) in the Prime Minister’s Office, Bangladesh from 2012- 2014.

Civil Service Reforms organized by the IDS of Sussex University, UK, KOICA’s Special Training Program on Economic Development Strategy, Seoul, Republic of Korea and SIDA’s International Training Program on Public Service Management, Sweden are notable amid the professional trainings. He was the sole Bangladeshi Commercial Counsellor posted in the EU countries nominated for this prestigious but fiercely competitive CBI Master Class on EU Export Promotion for Commercial Attachés arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Hague, Netherlands.

Mr. Navid has so far delivered talks as resource person at Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy, Defense Services Command & Staff College, Mirpur Cantonment, Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy, Planning Academy & Police Staff College. His expertise is on Performance Management, Public Service Innovation, Economic Diplomacy, English, SDGs and 4IR. He has numerous publications to his credit.

To date, he has officially visited UK, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Turkey, Austria, Portugal, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China and South Korea.

Mr. Navid is an enlisted singer of Bangladesh Television. He is an avid painter, traveler and also passionate about gardening. He is happily married to Sonya Rahman, they are blessed with a son and a daughter named Ahnaf and Ayesha respectively.
