Michelle Hustler is a trade and business development specialist and has obtained her designation as a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP). She has worked in trade and small business development in the Caribbean and beyond over the past fifteen years, with a particular emphasis on services sector development. Michelle began her professional career as manager of the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries (2003-2010) where she held responsibility for the conceptualization, design, implementation, monitoring, assessment and reporting on projects designed to enhance the international competitiveness of the Barbados’ services sector, with an emphasis on encouraging services exports. Her main areas of specialty are export development and promotion, business development, institutional strengthening of PSD organizations and marketing and communications. She has worked directly and indirectly for many donor organizations including: World Bank, Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), International Trade Centre (WTO/UNCTAD), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa Secretariat (COMESA), ProInvest, Global Affairs Canada, TFO Canada, Caribbean Export Development Agency, Centre for the Development of Enterprise (CDE) and BizClim, as well as many private sector organizations. Michelle is co-developer of GATEWAY to Trade, the world’s only export training programme for service providers.
