Mostafizur Rahaman Sohel, a serial technopreneur, with over 2 decades of experience in technology, finance and management as a software architect, consultant, mentor and entrepreneur. During his extensive career, he was involved in the development of several products, like DreamApps ERP, ERM Anywhere, Core Integrated Business Systems & ERP in a Box.
He is one of the pioneers of Bangladesh ICT industry and has major contribution to make Enterprise Resource Solutions popular in the country. He took a challenging and adventurous career path by opting to coming back to his native land after finishing higher studies abroad. His company along with other pioneers of the industry literally made people understand the importance of automation. Sohel has kept himself engaged for the continuous development of ICT industry and eco system. His companies are now involved in Software business, Human resource development, System Integration, Business Intelligence and E-Commerce.
He has been a key contributor in GRP, the first ever E-Government ERP Project initiated by Government of Bangladesh.
He is now very much active to popularize Cloud computing and e-commerce in Bangladesh. He is representing private sector and has worked with Government to enact first ever E-commerce Policy for Bangladesh. Sohel was the National Consultant for UNCTAD's Rapid eTrade Readiness Assessment on Bangladesh.
Sohel is a Director at BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services), the apex body for ITES industry in Bangladesh. He was the Joint Secretary General of BASIS for the term 2014-2016 and as a Director of BASIS for the term 2016-2018.
He is a also board member of ‘Business for eTrade Development’ - the premier private sector voice for optimizing public policies and aid allocations for eCommerce development and fueling cross-border eCommerce worldwide that was launched alongside the UNCTAD-led ‘eTrade for All’ initiative.
Sohel is an Independent Director of CCBL (Central Counterparty Bangladesh Limited) - a company that has been formed to modernization and increment in capacity of capital market in Bangladesh by implementing a state-of-the-art CCP System to manage ever-growing business of the capital market and align its business vision with technological advancement.
Sohel has performed as the Head Judge for BASIS National ICT Award for year 2018 and 2019. He has also been judging in Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) since 2016.
He is a former National President of JCI (Junior Chamber International) Bangladesh and a JCI Senator.
