Mr. Gofran Farooque

Mr. Gofran Farooque, served American Express Bank (AEB) Bangladesh for 19 years, lastly as the Senior Director & Chief Operations Officer, also the Country Manager-in-Charge for over six months. He also worked as a Consultant/Advisor for Swiss Bank for 3 years. At AEB he was responsible for Bank Operations and Administration in Bangladesh. Till the Human Resources function was formalized, the total bank HR was looked after by Mr. Gofran. Under his active leadership, AEB was the first bank in Bangladesh to start online banking in the early nineties.


Mr. Gofran is a certified TQM facilitator and trainer and leads training programs for E-Zone HRM and other organizations. He is a highly skilled manager who pays attention to details and helps foster a professional working environment for both internal associates and external customers. A visionary leader with persuasive communication and presentation skills Mr. Gofran has a proven ability to build, foster and nurture high-performing service teams and high-level customer relationships based on trust and confidence.


Mr. Gofran was also the founder member of Manabik Shahajya Sangstha - MSS an NGO which was founded during the 1974 famine in Bangladesh and played an active role in various capacities in bringing the organization to what it is today. Besides administration, he was also the treasurer of MSS for a few years. Today MSS is playing a big role in Micro Credit Financing for urban slum women and is also involved in mother and child health care. MSS played a pioneering role in establishing FEMA in Bangladesh along with the NDI of the US. Mr. Gofran’s other management strength lies in planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring and has been an effective and successful crisis management manager throughout his career.
