MarEngr. Obaidullah Ibne Bashir CEng FIMarEST

Mohammad Obaidullah Ibne Bashir is presently working as Engineer Examiner and assessor at the Department of Shipping under the Ministry of Shipping Bangladesh. He is also PhD research fellow at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Mirpur, Dhaka. He attended Mirjapur Cadet College. He sailed on different types and sizes of Merchant vessels for 12 years, rising from cadet engineer to Chief Engineer. He was the recipient of the President Gold Medal in his batch at the time of his graduation from Marine Academy Chittagong. He served as the Country Manager of Lloyd’s Register Bangladesh Pvt Ltd for eight years building sound knowledge and experience in different types of surveys and audits. He has MBA, MSc degree in Sustainable Maritime Operation and MPA degree in public policy. He is a distinguished Fellow in the Institute of Marine Engineers Science and Technology (IMarEST) UK, Royal Institute of Naval Architects (RINA) UK and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CLIT). He is also a distinguished member of IMO IMSAS Auditor pool and participated as an auditor to IMO member state audits. He attended numerous trainings home and abroad and author of number of peer-reviewed maritime journal articles. He regularly delivers papers in Maritime technical seminars and is also IMarEST Recognized Speaker.
