Just a year after introducing 4G, the telecom sector in Bangladesh is turning its attention to moving on to the era of 5G, which is currently being utilized efficiently across the entire world. The global digital revolution that 5G is expected to fuel over the next few years will boost economies and encourage creativity. As 5G is deployed more extensively, the technology will be utilized to serve the IoT, which depends on its low latency and high bandwidth to support future use cases including assisted driving, delivery robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), connected drones, and public safety applications. For organizations that need higher efficiency or additional, faster data, 5G will open up a wide range of new options. The IoT will play a more significant role across almost every industry, from automobiles through smart manufacturing to utilities. IoT will also assist and advise communities by facilitating the implementation of government policy. 5G is the first mobile network that has been designed from the ground up to support IoT use cases. According to a recent BASIS survey, over 70% of IT companies are involved in the development and maintenance of software for their clients, and the number of registered software companies in Bangladesh is around 800 or higher. Overall, a seminar conference will be organized to inform and guide the appropriate authorities and enlighten them of the opportunities that 5G and IoT will portray for the telecom and software sectors.
