Information and communication technology (ICT) seriously influences Bangladesh's national economy. People now perceive ICT as a key driver for Bangladesh's economy and governance. Software and other IT-related items are presently exported from Bangladesh to more than 50 nations worldwide. In addition, a significant number of other countries are using Bangladesh for their IT needs. Bangladesh has developed into a prime location for IT outsourcing, attributable to the ICT sector's expanding export income. BASIS initiated well-known programs like the BASIS Soft Expo, BASIS Student Forum, BASIS E-Commerce Alliance, etc. to create awareness about startups and facilitate the growth of this sector. It also helped shape the policy framework for the ICT sector. Appreciating the financial benefits of growing the ICT industry, the government has implemented several growth-oriented strategies to make use of the state's enormous human resources, which have contributed to numerous IT innovations and digital entrepreneurship. As a result, Bangladesh's ICT industry has flourished under the current government. The session will highlight how ICT is triggering the economy and economic governance and how it indicates the future role of ICT in management and development.
